Superintendent’s Update Week

The Lord's ministry is thriving at Western Christian Schools, and I am humbled to begin my second year as Superintendent.  There are so many new and exciting things happening at WCS, and this week I'd like to share with you all these things God is accomplishing for our students.  Stay tuned each day for an update about the latest happenings around Western Christian Schools.

We Proclaim Him!

Proclaim HimI'd like to share with you this years’ school verse and its importance to everything we do at Western Christian.  Colossians 1:28 states, “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.”  Only through a genuine pursuit of God’s truth can our students grow in knowledge and wisdom, and the only objective of eternal value is that each of our students would be presented “perfect in Christ.”  With the proclamation of Christ as the aim of our education, a whole new world of confidence and value is instilled within our students.  All of the growth, success, and accomplishments of these students become byproducts of a life fulfilled by the love Jesus Christ.  He is the source of all wisdom, knowledge, gifting, and purpose, and through Him our students are capable of anything.

From Harvest to Homecoming

What a fun week! We get to do this?! It has been such a blessing for our school community to enjoy fellowship through the events and activities of the Harvest Festival and our Homecoming Football game.  I’d like to give thanks to all the parents who volunteered to make all these events happen.  A special thanks goes to parents Stacy Richardson and Suzanne Evans for leading our Harvest Festival this year.  The Harvest Festival gets more and more fun each year!

I’d also like to thank our High School Athletic Booster Club and ASB for helping make the Homecoming game an exciting experience. We had an amazing opportunity to welcome our alumni and witness our Fighting Lancer football team progress to a 9-0 record.

We are witnessing a historic moment for Western Christian by holding a 9-0 record in football.  I am so proud of our football team’s commitment to love the Lord and to love each other.  Coach Oberlander put it best a few weeks ago when he said, “7-0 feels great. What feels better is why we're 7-0. Our athletes love each other and put their teammates before themselves. Selfless love + discipline in the details = special things will happen. Go Western Christian HS Football!” To God be the glory!  Join us this Friday, November 8, 2013 at 7pm on our home field for the final game of the regular season versus Ontario Christian.

Win or lose, we are proud of our students, and we believe whole heartedly in the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness to them. They perform for the King of kings and Lord of lords.  Whatever they do, they do it all for the glory of God. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28.

Until tomorrow,
